No One Gets Left Behind in Our Village
We support families of children with disabilities by creating spaces where everyone from siblings to parents feels seen, included and empowered.
Meet Amari. Meet Her Mom. Meet the Movement.
“Of course no one knows the unknown, but I’m grateful for what I know now. There was a time when I felt very alone emotionally and financially, even while surrounded by my family. That place lead me to create “Still a Star”: to be the support I wish I had, for every parent navigating the unimaginable.”
- Brooke Dyson, Mom to Amari who has Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
In 2013, Amari’s life changed after a car accident caused traumatic brain injuries (TBI). Her mother’s life changed, too. She had no roadmap, no support, and no one who truly understood the weight of it all.
Still A Star was born out of a mother’s love and her mission to make sure no one…not the child, not the siblings, or the parents ever feels forgotten again.
Our Mission & Why It Matters
We help families with special needs children feel supported, included, and never alone.
Still A Star offers emotional support, inclusive activities, therapeutic resources, and real-life connection for:
Siblings who often feel overshadowed
Parents who are juggling the impossible
Grandparents and caretakers who want to help but don’t know how
This is more than a cause. It’s a community where every person is valued and reminded that they are still a star.
Families like Amari’s are everywhere and they’re overwhelmed. Many are managing hospital visits, financial strain, and emotional burnout while still trying to create “normal” moments for their families. Still A Star fills that gap with:
Family events that are accessible and inclusive
Workshops and retreats for moms, dads, and caretakers
Support circles that center compassion, not pity
Resources that meet the whole family’s needs
